For this week's show I've been speaking to Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar. Mark's wanted to be a superhero peter reid triathlete ever since he can remember. He grew up drawing pictures of them for his family, and eventually for a living. And it's been quite a living. peter reid triathlete He's now a big player in Hollywood where they can't get enough of the comic genre.
A more "un-Hollywood" guy you couldn't hope to meet. He's very down to earth, and, as he proudly told me, his clothes aren't designer and his mobile peter reid triathlete phone cost 19.99. Mark tells me about growing up in Coatbridge. peter reid triathlete As the youngest child, he says he was always a bit spoiled and indulged by his parents and siblings. peter reid triathlete That gave him the confidence to believe he could achieve anything. He lost both his parents when he was just a teenager and he and his sisters and brothers became even closer after that. When Mark eventually moved to Glasgow, they were in tears. Perhaps that explains why he still refuses to live in LA where most of his work takes him.
Mark admits he draws on his personal experiences for a lot of his stories - without the bad language and violence of course. He's got the next ten years of his life planned out with all sorts of new projects, including a movie called American Jesus . Jesus as superhero?? You'll have to listen to find out more.
