Qatari television station "Al Jazeera" August 20 runs its own news channel in the U.S.. The new news channel, called Al-Jazeera America is going to compete with such giants of American media market, as CNN, Fox News and MSNBC.
Al-Jazeera America created based on the American cable channel Current TV, founded by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore. "Al-Jazeera" purchased this not the most popular channel for Americans in January of this year. Al-Jazeera America will be based in New York, and have 11 offices across the country - in Washington, DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Detroit, Chicago, Denver, Miami, Seattle, Nashville and New Orleans. The potential audience of the new channel is about 50 million people, and among its employees will be several prominent American television journalists - in particular, a number of veterans of CNN.
Among the evening broadcasts on TV channel Al-Jazeera America will release the news, information and analytical program, talk shows, as well as program chamenei dedicated to economic issues.
